Finding Your Niche: What do you want to be known?


In my experience, there are two types of small business owners: one that knows its niche market and exploit, and another that seeks to revoke or not carved into the rock, their target market. With the latter group, I always probe for more information: Why do not you want to select a specific target for your product / service? Again the answer is the same do not want to limit my food only profits, just a few.

In all reality, you're not limited to earn all! Horseshoes, when I play, you need a shoe with a match. Play horseshoes with 5 bars and a large horseshoe, you will see how successful do you think? My guess is, very. The same goes for marketing, the more missions you are trying to link it more difficult to achieve this goal. Stating that you are after a game, your success rate will be much higher, and because you are a special group of people who can talk to them in their own words and make you an expert in their field going!

Business Experience = more!

I know that personally I much prefer to do business with someone who has the right to my needs. There are a million widgets out there, because a widget Big Red, if I have a little 'green? When the consciousness of the little green, I would definitely buy one! The same applies to the product / service. Most want on your market, spend as many people from that market to buy from you!

Find your niche

Where can I find my target?

Take a look at your service. What are your three favorite things in the range of services that you sell, what they like most? List on paper to define clearly, and as a starting point will be found.


Who can use these services?

You need to know that they can use all these services. Not just one but all three services, which you have chosen. Easy ways here: to respond to owners of small businesses just do not count (The Small Business Administration (were) www.sba.gov estimated 23.7 million small businesses in 2003). It may also be more of a group of people who can use their services, but you will need these groups to take a moment to the success of your approach to marketing dollars. Knowing the demographic characteristics of the item just is not, you will need in mind and discover what makes them so special. If you know what makes them tick, you know how to talk with them, so it's much easier to position yourself as an expert.

The market should not be expensive or difficult to use your imagination to see, where to collect a great choice, and the websites / books they read go / and you'll be a good starting point. Search for people individually, probe and their needs. Will tell you what you feel in relation to this, and often then you will not be a guide to places to find more information. Get an insider in the industry, and uses it to its full potential.

What makes you different?

Now is the time to take a look at the competition for this niche. What are the services you offer, the services different from your competitors? What are the qualities that have made in you? You must be professional, but optimistic and personal? We need someone who specializes in their business with a specialization in marketing or management of the project? This is the time to shine! You must be from the competition, and add your own flare. You need to know what differentiates you and highlight all the opportunities! This not only helps to define its market, but this is another way your customers will be active when you need it.

Select Territory

Once these important information about your ideal customer that you've shown, you can begin actively marketing and advertising for your services. You know who you are talking about, so make sure you always talk to them! This is the time for you to proclaim your market who you are and what you do! Then paste it into any line of signature that can be done, not direct or e-mail marketing and brochures, articles, letters, everywhere you can! Make sure you know networking groups who seek you: it is another tool to use to your advantage. Being the expert you are here: they show everyone. Niche Marketing is not only a powerful tool, but a rule very big in my book. In combination with the techniques of branding, this is your marketing money. And do not worry, you can always choose a new niche!
