Every day, thousands of people on planes with the assumption that their pilots are sober. Fortunately, this is true, most of the time. Pilots are not perfect, and some have alcohol problems. Why are entrusted with the lives of others so often, there are strict rules for drivers and DWIs.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is the organization responsible not only for the inspection of aircraft, but also the punishment and pilot licensing. In order to govern the pilots have the Federal Aviation Regulations. This is a set of rules, which are often referred to as the charade.
As a general rule, there are three types of medical certificates. A pilot must have a valid medical certificate to fly. Certificates will be organized by class, first, second and third. First class certificates are suitable for six months and then the pilot must obtain a new one. Class II certificates are good for twelve months before they must be replaced. Third class certificates are good for twenty-four months before having to be renewed.
If a driver goes to renew his medical certificate, is a white spot on the application form for the pilot project to mention, or sign DWI convictions. DWI charges are not required to be reported on the medical certificate form, only convictions.
But the FAA has yet to notify the arrest and DWI charges. This should be a report that a variety of things to do to be owned. These things are:
• the pilot's name, address, date of birth, certificate number of pilot
• The nature of the injury that resulted in the conviction or administrative action
• The date of conviction and administrative
• The state, which holds the record of conviction or administrative action
· A declaration of the motor vehicle action the result of the same incident or arose from the same factual circumstances relating to a share of motor vehicle previously reported
If the report is not filed with the FAA, the FAA may suspend or revoke the certification, evaluation, authorization, or issued by the organization. The pilot is suspended 60 days for a license with the FAA.
While these regulations in the FAA, the pilot of the employer may apply to DWI different rules. It 'important to be aware of these rules.
